Established in 2013, the Fifth Laboratory focuses on basic research, key technology R&D and application engineering development in the field of network and system security. It is an important base for scientific and technological breakthroughs, academic exchanges and personnel training for academic research on network and system security。
Research direction
Facing network and system security threats in cyberspace, the research focuses on computer system and security, cloud computing and network security, intelligent devices and mobile Internet security, network security protection and control, network architecture, Internet architecture and application, data center frontier technology and security system, etc。

Meet national strategic needs，Develop independent, controllable, safe and reliable network technology and computer systems，为国家重要网络及信息系统建设提供关键技术支撑；重点围绕网络与系统安全开展前沿性和创新性学术研究，跻身国内外相关研究领域前列；积极开展国内外合作交流，着力培养具有国际前沿学术视野和多学科交叉应用能力的研究型人才；同时大力开展创新性研究成果的工程化应用，Cultivate professional talents with professional knowledge of network and system security and skills of system level software and hardware development。
Scientific research achievement
研究团队先后承担了国家科技创新重大项目、国家“核高基”、国家重点研发计划、“新一代移动通信网”科技重大专项、先导专项、“863计划”重大项目、工信部技改专项、工业互联网创新发展工程专项、国家发改委信息安全、下一代互联网示范项目、国家科技支撑计划、国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家网信办信息安全等项目。He has won the first prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Science and Technology of China Communications Society, the first prize of Science and Technology of China Electronics Society, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, and the China Patent Award。He has published many academic papers in important journals and conferences such as IEEE TIFS, AAAI, JSAC, INFOCOM, SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, TOSC, MILCOM, T-MM, IWQos, SECON, etc，Formulate and publish five International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standards。
Research team
截至2021年12月，Laboratory No. 5有固定研究人员110余人，其中正高级职称12人；副高级职称29人；中级职称63人；初级职称10人。45 dispatched workers and more than 290 mobile researchers (including dispatched workers, visiting researchers, postdoctoral students, doctoral students, master's students and visiting students)。
Xu Zhen, director of the research Office, is a well-known expert in the field of cyber space security and director of the Beijing Engineering Laboratory of Internet Intelligent Devices。Many young scholars in the research room have a solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience in the fields of computer system structure, network architecture, large-scale network security, system security, etc。
